A Success Diary – An Interview with Private Lender Nick Blatin



I am a 25 year old private money lender in Los Angeles; hence the name of our company, Private Money Solutions.

How do you overcome anxiety and what have been your main challenges so far?

Whenever there is a lot of money at stake, there will be anxiety. What we do plays a huge role in the lives of people, especially borrowers who need money and investors who can live off that income. Sometimes I run out of time and still have to deliver.

Throughout this journey I have certainly learned to never get excited about a single chord as it can fall apart at any time and always focus on getting MORE. It’s hard to feel anxiety about a specific deal when you know you have 10 more going on. I also take my health very seriously and make sure to eat healthy and exercise at least 4-6 times a week. It is a huge factor in helping to manage general stress.

What are your top tips for success in all aspects of life?

There are a lot of factors that go into being successful, so it’s hard to choose just a few tips. If I had to choose the most important piece of advice, it would first be to put yourself in a position where you have a lot of opportunity. This means that you should get into sales, entrepreneurship, or any other job that allows you to have unlimited income. Most people can work really hard, but they are working hard for something that cannot offer more reward for their time. Maybe they can get promoted every few years, but they can’t double their income every year or every month. Once you’ve picked the right vehicle, it’s all about discipline and keeping the promises you make to yourself. Everyone knows they should get up early, everyone knows they should go to the gym, everyone knows they should be reading instead of watching TV, buying new clothes, and so on. following.

The difference between successful people and unsuccessful people is that successful people will do what they need to do and make the sacrifices. People who fail will convince themselves that it’s okay to miss their goals or not follow through on their plans to improve their own lives.

How to avoid burnout?

As Gary Vaynerchuck says, “find a way to monetize your passion”. I avoid burnout just by doing something I love. It is not a chore for me to go to work, it is fun and exciting every day. I was a real estate agent and at one point I was even the under 25 listed real estate agent in Los Angeles. This job seemed to fit all of my criteria in a job that included unlimited opportunities and a lot of freedom. However, the problem was that I didn’t have a lot of passion for architecture, design or art. There were a lot of emotions and feelings in dealing with clients buying and selling real estate, and I could feel it slowly taking its toll on me.

Work 7 days a week for 4 years; evenings, doors open on weekends, and always on call allowed me to gain a real understanding and a real understanding of the business. It prompted me to explore a new side of the business!

I am taking after my father who is truly a mathematical genius. He even got a perfect score in the math section of his SAT. This is what led me to enter the world of credit. I prefer to deal with pure business and numbers. At the end of the day, do something you love that matches your personality and you’ll never burn out.

What are your plans for continued growth and success?

I get almost all of my business from mortgage brokers, real estate agents, and real estate investors / developers. To grow, I simply plan to grow my network of brokers, agents and investors, and continue to show them that I can keep my word to get money for their clients. It’s all about customer service. I always make sure to answer my phone immediately, or at least send an SMS if I’m not available and call back immediately. I also reply to all of my emails immediately every day. These things seem like common sense, but you would be shocked at how bad people are with their phones in the real estate business.

What keeps you constantly motivated?

Two things motivate me: freedom and the ability to change people’s lives. As Grant Cardone says; “Being broke is selfish. If you can barely afford to help yourself, how do you plan to help others?”.

A lot of people are motivated by material things like cars and jewelry, or maybe buying bottles in the nightclub. I am only motivated by the idea of ​​being truly free. My goal is to be able to donate to charities that I support. I want to be able to help any friend or family at any time and not worry if I have enough money. I want to be able to support young entrepreneurs in their businesses and make their dreams come true. There are many ways to change the world and the lives of some people for the better after you have had better financial results.

Advice for those who aspire to succeed;

As I mentioned earlier, there are so many tips for success. I can write several books only on this subject. If you want the fast track to success, the best way to do it is to find a mentor in your industry. Find someone who has achieved the success you desire and someone who has already gone through the trials and tribulations it takes to reach the top of this industry. There are 3 types of people in this world: those who learn from the mistakes of others, those who learn from their own mistakes, and those who never learn. You want to be the first person to learn from others. It will save you a lot of time and energy and ultimately lead you on the path to success.
