Telangana Govt employee commits suicide after being tortured by loan provider-ANI’s enforcement officers


Siddipet (Telangana) [India], Dec. 18 (ANI): A government worker committed suicide in Siddipet after being tortured and insulted by loan enforcement officers, police said Thursday.
According to Joel Davis, Police Commissioner, Siddipet Police Station, K Mounika, AEO, Ministry of Agriculture, committed suicide late Monday night after consuming pesticides in his residence here.
“The victim was rushed to a local hospital and from there she was referred to a higher center in Hyderabad for better treatment. She died during treatment overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday. Her parents alleged that Mounika had been insulted by the loan provider’s enforcement officers by circulating her photo in WhatsApp groups showing her as failing, ”Davis said.
One case was registered under the relevant articles of the Indian Penal Code. (ANI)
